We take the international spot price per troy ounce, convert it to GBP at the day's reference exchange rate and scale it by weight and purity. It is labelled 'estimated'.
Why is the price in a shop higher?
Shops add making charges and, where it applies, VAT or sales tax. These vary by shop and design and are not included.
What is the difference between 24K, 22K and 18K?
24K is close to pure gold. 22K is 91.7% gold, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75%; the price scales with the gold content.
